The Amissville Family:

A story of God's amazing grace.

Amissville Baptist Church began as a Baptist Bible study and was constituted as a local church on December 29, 1888.  The Lord blessed ABC and the church grew from 26 members to 91 members within the span of a year. Two years later, the church constructed and opened its current sanctuary in the summer 1891. As the church expanded numerically and shifted from monthly meetings to weekly meetings, the saints of ABC also expanded ABC's physical footprint to include a cemetery in 1920, electricity in 1926, its fellowship hall in 1982, and air conditioning in 1986.

The Lord has preserved ABC through many ups and downs. Over the last hundred plus years, ABC has baptized hundreds of souls, cared for the families of the tri-country area, and also sent out six of its members to serve as pastors and another one as a missionary to Swaziland during that time. ABC's called Dr. Peter Witkowski to serve as its senior pastor in April 2018. ABC has a heart to honor its legacy and to every expand the worship of the one true God throughout the historic farm community of Rappahannock County and to reach the families of Culpeper County,  Fauquier County, and the nations with the gospel.

Our Vision for Today: WORSHIPING THE ONE TRUE GOD

ABC encourages men and women to find their happiness in God through loving God and loving each other. To accomplish this divine mission, the families of ABC gather together each Sunday and throughout the week to sing God's praises, to offer prayers to the Lord, to hear His revealed Word preached, and to compassionately care for one another.

We all serve side-by-side to promote the worship of Jesus in Rappahannock, Fauquier, and Culpeper Counties, and to the ends of the earth. As all biblical congregations throughout history and across the globe, ABC exists to spread the worship of the one true, triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
