The Amissville Family:

A story of God's amazing grace.

Amissville Baptist Church began as a Baptist Bible study and was eventually constituted as a local church on December 29, 1888. From its beginning, ABC has experienced the Lord's kindness. It grew from 26 members to 91 members within the span of a year. Two years later, the church constructed and opened its current sanctuary in the summer 1891. As the church expanded numerically and shifted from monthly meetings to weekly meetings, the saints of ABC also expanded ABC's physical footprint to include a cemetery in 1920, electricity in 1926, a fellowship hall in 1982, and air conditioning in 1986.

Over the last hundred plus years, ABC has also baptized hundreds of souls, cared for the families of the tri-country area, and sent out six of its members to serve as pastors and another one as a missionary to Swaziland.

In 2018, ABC's called Dr. Peter Witkowski to serve as its senior pastor.

ABC has a heart to honor its legacy, to glorify the one true God, and to reach the historic farming community of Rappahannock County as well as Culpeper County, Fauquier County, and the nations with the good news of the gospel.

Our Vision: To Glorify the one true and triune God

Amissville Baptist Church is a historic (est.1888) and always reforming Southern Baptist Church (SBC). It possesses a heart for reformed theology, expository preaching, meaningful membership, and evangelism.

In short, ABC exists to glorify God.  The saints of ABC seek to accomplish this mission by:

  - That Baptist Faith and Message 2000 is ABC’s Statement of Faith

Equipping (the Saints)
